NBA: Nowitzki praises Kleber:”That was great”

Maxi Kleber had some strong scenes during the defeat of the Dallas Mavericks against the San Antonio Spurs, including a spectacular Dunk over Rudy Gay. Subsequently, Dirk Nowitzki explicitly praised him to DAZN.

“That was great,”Nowitzki, who scored 12 points in the game himself, praised his younger opponent and said,”Whenever he came in so far, he always took his chance. He gives us a lot of energy and plays with fire.”

Kleber, 25, scores an average of 4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 11.8 minutes in the Mavs in nine games so far, and scores a good 50 percent of the field. Nowitzki, however, is particularly fond of Kleber’s physique:”He is much more athletic than I ever thought. I’ve never seen him play much before. But he is really fast on his feet, defends well, has a great nose to the ball and is good at fastbreak,”Nowitzki said.

Against San Antonio Kleber, who was described by Nowitzki as a “clever player”, laid down 5 points and supplied 1 block. The Mavs had a positive plus/minus score against the Spurs in just under 22 minutes, even though the game was narrowly lost,”I hope he showed that he can play constructively when he gets minutes,”Nowitzki said.
