NHL: Oilers back on track for success – Draisaitl with two assists

The Edmonton Oilers have celebrated their highest win of the season so far. Leon Draisaitl’s team of international players won against the new Golden Knights franchise from Las Vegas after a strong performance with 8:2. Draisaitl contributed two assists and stood on the ice for 18:11 minutes.

Previously, there had been two defeats for the Canadians, who were second to last in the Western Conference with 16 points from 18 games.

Draisaitl’s national team mate Tom Kühnhackl won with the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Buffalo Sabres after overtime 5:4. Kühnhackl could not enter himself into the scorer list, was used 9:19 minutes. In the Eastern Conference, the Stanley Cup winner with 23 points in the chasing group is in fifth place.

The Washington Capitals were defeated by the Nashville Predators 3-6. The German keeper Philipp Grubauer stood in the last third in the gate of the capitals and remained without conceding a goal. Washington is ranked seventh in the Eastern Conference behind Pittsburgh and Ottawa.

For the Arizona Coyotes there was another defeat with the German international Tobias Rieder. The Coyotes lost the Winnipeg Jets 1:4. Rieder, who received 16:21 minutes of play, prepared the goal by Alex Goligoski in the last third.
