Golf: Tiger Woods celebrates promising comeback in Albany
Tiger Woods made a promising comeback after a break of almost ten months. At the Hero World Challenge in Albany/Bahamas, which he organized himself, the 41-year-old played a 69 on the Par-72 circuit, Woods made five birdies on his return, but he also lost two bogeys.
The 14-time Major Champion, who has suffered from a persistent backache since his early retirement from the tournament in Dubai on the 3rd day of the tournament. In April, for the fourth time in a row, surgery on the damaged back had been carried out.
In mid-October Woods returned to training. Meanwhile, the former world number one has dropped back to 1199th place in the ranking.
In the Hero World Challenge, 18 pros will be competing alongside Woods, including world ranked leader Dustin Johnson, world rankings runner-up Jordan Spieth (both USA) and Olympic gold medallist Justin Rose (England).
