NFL: Manning: Plan to play next season.

For Eli Manning, the big series of consecutive starts against the Raiders ended as announced – Geno Smith was allowed to go to Oakland, Manning could only look at the bankruptcy of his Giants from the sidelines. He then spoke about his plans for 2018.

“Yes, I plan to play next season,”Manning said after the New York Daily News. Of course, he would have preferred to stand on the pitch rather than on the sidelines against the raiders,”but this is the situation we are in now. In view of our 2-9 record, they want to look at other guys, I understand that. I’m not mad at anyone.”

Beyond that, he is not looking for a culprit:”Coach McAdoo wanted to support me by letting me continue with the start. But knowing that I’m being taken out of the game – I couldn’t have played like that. Still, I appreciate it. He wanted to do me a favor.”

Of course, Manning did not want to comment on the possible dismissal of McAdoo – according to reports this could already take place next week -:”I don’t want anyone to be dismissed. When a coach is dismissed, it’s usually because the team, the players and myself have not been able to get their performance. So I don’t want to see it, I hope the reports aren’t right.”
