NFL: After Brown dismissal: Cleveland hires Dorsey
The Cleveland Browns have revealed why they dismissed Managing Director Sashi Brown at the time:”The Browns presented his successor, John Dorsey, only a few hours later.
The Browns announced the commitment on Thursday evening, in a statement Dorsey said:”Football is what I know and love. I’ve spent my entire career in football, and I love every aspect of building a successful football team.”
He also believes that he “has a feeling for the emotions of the fans in Cleveland and what it would mean for them if we could revive the success that this franchise once had. Jimmy and Dee (Haslam) are passionate about having a successful team in Cleveland.”
NFL network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Browns had been looking at candidates for a while, which is why Dorsey’s commitment was made perfect so quickly. Dorsey spent the past four years as Managing Director of Kansas City Chiefs and is considered one of the best talent scouts in the NFL. Nevertheless, the Chiefs had surprisingly dismissed him in June, and he is now receiving a four-year contract in Cleveland.
