NFL: Eagles in Fear: Carson Wentz injured at his knee
The Philadelphia Eagles are trembling for another season: Shortly after the Eagles took the lead against the Rams in Los Angeles with 31:28, there was a shock: Carson Wentz had to leave with a knee injury. It soon became clear that the quarterback would not return.
Nick Foles came in for Wentz. Philly’s quarterback, who plays an outstanding season, had already had numerous hard hits against the pass rush of the Rams. He allegedly contracted the injury when he was caught in the air by two players trying to jump into the final zone.
Wentz then played some plays even though obviously shattered, and finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery before he was examined on the sideline and finally brought into the cabin. A short time later the team reported that Wentz would not return.
According to the FOX transmission team on site, the mood among the doctors is said to have been depressed. If it were a serious injury, a great time so far for the Eagles would suddenly be under a different star – and the NFC playoffs would also have to be re-sorted.
Further updates should follow by Monday at the latest.
