NBA: Media: Cleveland Cavaliers do not want to give up pick of Brooklyn Nets
With the trade from Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, the Cleveland Cavaliers are now in possession of the valuable Nets-Pick this summer. The cavs also want to keep this one, which means that it should not be traded during the season under any circumstances.
That’s what Sean Deveney from Sporting News reports. They’re ready to talk about possible deals,”said an anonymous general manager,” but they’re not talking about this pick.”
It is likely that the Brooklyn Nets pick, which moved to Boston in 2013 from Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in the famous Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett deal, will be a high lottery pick as the Nets continue to be one of the worse teams in the league, despite a respectable game.
In Cleveland, the post-season orientation remains unclear, partly because LeBron James is becoming a Free Agent again and remains silent about his future:”The Pick is Plan B because of the whole LeBron thing and, as I have heard, that will not change,”the GM explained further.
After several reports the cavs are still looking for reinforcements for this season. DeAndre Jordan (Clippers) and Marc Gasol (Grizzlies) were recently the most famous names. However, since Cleveland has hardly any interesting assets with the exception of the Nets pick, a trade seems quite unrealistic.
