NBA: Did the Knicks want to trade Kristaps Porzingis in summer?

Kristaps Porzingis plays his strongest season of his young career so far with the New York Knicks. During the summer, there were also voices in favour of Latvian trade, including ex-boss Phil Jackson.

ESPN’s Ian Begeley reports that many members of the organization are said to have been upset about the behavior of Porzingis. The Latvian did not appear after last season at the exit meeting and flew back to Europe immediately instead. Porzingis later explained that he was dissatisfied with the drama surrounding the franchise.

In response, the then President of Basketball, Phil Jackson, thought about trading the forward and talked to numerous teams before the draft about various options. Jackson was trying to show who’s on the longer lever. But it is not only the Zen master alone who is said to have dealt with the possibility of trading Porzingis.

In the end, this didn’t happen, not least because the Knicks Jackson was released after the draft and Carmelo Anthony was shipped to Oklahoma City in September. 25.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per match are currently being played by the Latvian team.
