NBA: Wolves: Teague is missing for up to four weeks
The Minnesota Timberwolves have to give up Point Guard Jeff Teague for up to one month. The playmaker had become stretched in the game against the Denver Nuggets. That’s what an investigation revealed.
After a nuclear spin investigation, the Wolves sounded the all-clear. There is no structural damage to the knee, but Teague will be missing between two and four weeks due to ligament stretching. Thus Tyus Jones will move into the starting five of the TImberwolves during this time.
Coach Tom Thibodeau also breathed a sigh of relief towards ESPN:”We’re lucky in the midst of disaster. His knee’s barely swollen. Thibs added that Teague had been struggling with similar problems before,”I think he understands how to deal with this injury.”
Teague injured himself in the final phase of the game against the Denver Nuggets when he fought with Gary Harris for a ball and the latter fell on the Guard’s leg. The Wolves finally won the game after extra time.
The playmaker didn’t join Wolves until the summer, after spending a year with the Indiana Pacers. This season, the 29-year-old has so far played 13.4 points and 7.3 assists per match.
