NHL: Penguins win second consecutive victory for Penguins – Vegas remains unstoppable
National ice hockey player Tom Kühnhackl is beating the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL so slowly play-off course. The defending champion won in the North American professional league in a wild game 6-5 after extra time against the Boston Bruins and moved to a wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference for the second consecutive victory. The pens had initially led 3:1 and later 3:5.
Superstar Jewgeni Malkin (63) scored the decisive goal, the first time in over a month that Pittsburgh won two consecutive games. Kühnhackl was on the ice with his striker Riley Sheahan (43.) at the goalkeeper’s 5:5 and was very active in his scarcely twelve minutes of playing time.
The Vegas Golden Knights continued their almost astonishing triumphal march with a 2-1 defeat of the New York Rangers. The NHL newcomer continues to be the second-best team of all and leads the table in the West. For over a month now, the Knights have only lost once in 60 minutes and have scored ten victories from the past eleven matches. This time the Swede William Karlsson (49th) scored the winning goal.
Leon Draisaitl lost again with the Edmonton Oilers. One day after 5-1 at Dallas Stars, the Canadians lost 4-1 to the Chicago Blackhawks. With 18 victories from 43 main-round matches, the play-offs for the oilers traded high at the beginning of the season are moving further and further away.
The New York Islanders won 5:4 against the New Jersey Devils after penalty shooting, Thomas Greiss and Dennis Seidenberg were not used. The Washington Capitals won without goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer 4:3 against the St. Paul’s team. Louis Blues.
