Olympia 2018: Who wears the German flag in Pyengchang?

From 9. until the 25th The Winter Olympics will take place in Pyeongchang on February 2018. SPOX will tell you who is allowed to wear the German flag at the opening ceremony and who decides who is allowed to wear it.

Who follows Maria Höfl-Riesch? The German skier wore the German flag at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. It has not yet been decided who will receive this honour in 2018.

DOSB President Alfons Hörmann has already spoken out in favour of Claudia Pechstein. The German Olympic Sports Federation wants to involve the German fans in the decision and hold a vote. This was the case as early as 2016 at the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The decision as to who may represent Germany as flag bearer in Pyoengchang will be announced a few days before the Games.
