NBA: Finals against Cleveland?”I’d be shocked if I didn’t.”

On Tuesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers will receive the Golden State Warriors for the reissue of the NBA Finals (at 2am on DAZN). In the run-up to the event, some Dubs representatives spoke to San Jose Mercury News about the rivalry.

Three times in a row, both teams competed against each other in the finals, with the Warriors showing a 2-1 record. Quite a few assume that this year’s fourth meeting could be the fourth one, something that has never been seen before in the history of the NBA. Among them is Klay Thompson:”I’d be shocked if we didn’t do it again.”

Dubs coach Steve Kerr described the rivalry as ideal:”We just want to kick each other’s ass,”says Kerr,”There’s no love between us. And so it should be. We should be focused on hitting each other. Our rivalry is the analogy[to Lakers-Celtics in the 80s] of the modern NBA. You have superstars all over the court, so many games and so many people watching. It’s always a special feeling when these two teams are in the hall.”

Kerr noted that the 2015 title was his best moment as a coach and the worst moment of his defeat in 2016. But he is no longer thinking about the decisive game 7, said the coach. Stephen Curry said:”It doesn’t fuck me up the day I think about it. Even if, of course, you wish it hadn’t happened. But these memories are fine, because they make you feel better.”

Even though the Warriors and Cavaliers are tough opponents at the moment, Kerr has a different idea for the future:”If we see each other in 20 years, we’ll just hug each other. When I see Ty Lue or when I meet Steph at LeBron James, it’s just gonna be,”Great to see you.”
