Handball: Point for DHB team: EHF also rejects Slovenian opposition

The German national handball team’s point win at the European Championship against Slovenia (25:25) has been final since Wednesday afternoon.

The EHF rejected the Slovenes’ opposition to the rejection of the protest. The EHF informed the DHB of this.

The objection was about whether the referees were allowed to use the video evidence after the final siren at all. For the Commission, this was in line with the rules and it declared the decision final “This is the expected judgment. For us there was no doubt about the decision of the EHF, at no time,”DHB Vice President Bob Hanning told SID a few hours before the third and final group match in Zagreb against Macedonia (from 18.10 in the LIVETICKER) to the SID.

The original protest was about the question of whether the seven-metre lead to Tobias Reichmann’s equaliser for the German team was correct. Three Slovenian players had previously prevented Paul Drux from throwing Germany in. The Lithuanian referees had consulted the video evidence before their decision on Monday evening.
