Handball European Championship: Denmark beats Slovenia and heads for semi-finals

Olympic champion Denmark has set course for the semi-finals at the European Handball Championship in Croatia. The two-time European champion defeated the World Cup third Slovenia 31:28 (16:14) in the German main group in Varazdin and took the lead of the standings with four points.

The best thrower of the Danes was the outstanding Flensburg right-wing outsider Lasse Svan with eleven goals. With the Slovenians (one point) Miha Zarabec from the German record holder THW Kiel scored six goals.

The DHB’s selection had a 22:19 (9:10) working win against the Czech Republic (two points) at the start of the main round and, like Denmark, had four points. On Sunday (from 18.15 in the LIVETICKER) there will be a duel between Denmark and Germany.
