NHL: Penguins back on track
National player Tom Kühnhackl continues the upward trend with champion Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL. At the Los Angeles Kings, the Penguins celebrated their fifth 3-1 win from the past six games, with striker Kühnhackl remaining without goalkeeper participation. With 53 points, Pittsburgh is the eighth-best team at the Eastern Conference, but only three points are missing in fourth place.
Defeats set it in the night to Friday for the other German NHL pros: Attacker Tobias Rieder could not enter himself in the scorer list at the 2:3 after penalty shooting of league taillight Arizona Coyotes with the Nashville Predators.
Goalkeeper Thomas Greiss and defender Dennis Seidenberg didn’t make it through to the New York Islanders’ 2-5 defeat at home against the Boston Bruins. Goalie Philipp Grubauer from the Washington Capitals was also only a spectator at the 3:4 after penalty shooting at the New Jersey Devils.
