Handball-EM: Single Criticism: Lichtblick Bam Bam and three times unsatisfactory

The European Championship in Croatia is over for the German national team. It’s high time to take a look at the performance of each player. Who did their thing properly? Who has not fulfilled the expectations at all? SPOX makes the single criticism.

Andreas Wolff: Didn’t get off to a good start against Montenegro in their second game against Slovenia (1 out of 13.8 percent). He was the match winner in the first game of the main round against the Czech Republic, when he only scored one goal ten minutes before the end of the match. The bottom line, however, is that one would have hoped for Wolff to play one or two more outstanding games. With 43 defended balls in 126 throws (34 percent) he ranks tenth in the overall ranking of goalkeepers. Grade: 3

Silvio Heinevetter: Regular tournament of the Berliner, without shining particularly. When Wolff held back Slovenia very weakly, Heinevetter brought at least some stability. His best performance came from the numbers like Wolff against the Czech Republic (12% of 29.41%). Heinevetter’s total quota is also 34 percent (26 out of 76 defended throws), with a total of 103 minutes, which is significantly less than Wolff’s time. Grade: 3

Uwe Gensheimer: After a decent preliminary round with 21 goals, Gensheimer quickly dismantled. In the main round, PSG’s men didn’t have much (six goals) left too many easy throws. Moreover, as captain he was not able to set accents at all at the decisive moment, but was too busy with himself. With 27 goals, it was the best German European Championship goalscorer with a total score of 69%, which leaves much to be desired for an external player. Grade: 5

Rune Dahmke: The Kieler was nominated for the last two games against Denmark and Spain. Made it against the Danes with a strong performance (4 out of 5) to replace the weakening Gensheimer. However, in the decisive match against Spain in 13 minutes’ time, he then remained ineffective and without goals. Grade: 3.5
