NFL: Super Bowl: Gronk continues to out – Blount aggressive

The Super Bowl is approaching – and in Foxboro all eyes are on Rob Gronkowski. Due to his concussion, the tight end is still unable to train, and Tom Brady also works only to a limited extent. The patriots are still worried about their most important player after Tom Brady: Tight End Rob Gronkowski, who suffered a concussion in the AFC Championship game against Jacksonville, still can’t train.

The team had confirmed the injury on Wednesday on the Injury Report and Gronk was missing on Thursday in practice. The NFL requires five steps for a player to replay after a concussion: First, rest is prescribed, followed by light stretching sessions.

The training is then gradually intensified, observing whether the symptoms worsen again. Only if this does not happen and the player can participate in normal training sessions – initially without contact – will he get the green light for his return. On average, the symptoms recede after seven to ten days, but if Gronk’s symptoms get worse during the process, he could miss the Super Bowl.

While all eyes were on Gronkowski in front of the Super Bowl, before the Championship game against the Jaguars the focus was on Brady. New England’s quarterback suffered a hand injury during practice and had to be sewn with several stitches.

In the game, the injury obviously had no major impact, Brady played without a glove or something like that – only a tape on his hand revealed the injury. Now the Pats obviously don’t want to take any risks: Brady only had limited training on Thursday.

Meanwhile, defensive Linemen Deatrich Wise (brain shake) and Malcom Brown (foot) were unable to train, while Safety Devin McCourty (shoulder) and Running Back Mike Gillislee (knee) also worked only to a limited extent.
