NBA: All-Star Game: D’ Antoni coaches Team Curry

A head coach for the All-Star Game 2018 has been appointed: Mike D’ Antoni will take over the team from Stephen Curry. It is not yet clear who will be honoured with Team LeBron.

D’ Antoni is one of the 14 qualified head coaches of the Western Conference (Steve Kerr is not one of them, because he coached the All-Star Team last year) and D’ Antoni has the best record (34-13). It can also be completed by the deadline of 4. February will no longer be caught up.

D’ Antoni will be on the sidelines for the second time in his career at the All-Star Game. In 2007, as coach of the Phoenix Suns, he led the Western Conference to victory over the Eastern Conference.

It is not yet clear which coach will take over Team LeBron at the Eastern Conference. According to the current status it would be Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors (32-16). However, his team can theoretically continue until the 4th round. This will be intercepted by the Cavaliers in February. Celtics coach Brad Stevens, like Kerr, is not eligible as he was honored last year.
