NHL: Jagr likely to end his career
Jaromir Jagr is facing the end of his long NHL career. The Calgary Flames removed the 45-year-old Czech from their squad on Sunday and put him on the Waiver List.
This would allow any other club in the North American professional league to contract the 1998 Olympic champion. However, it is more likely that the last injured Jagr will return to his Czech homeland.
Jagr, who finished second behind superstar Wayne Gretzky in the NHL, has been on top of the scoring charts since 31st January. I never played another game in December.
For Calgary, he scored only one goal in 22 games this season. Jagr are only 34 games short of the record set by legendary Gordie Howe with 1767 NHL games.
The Czech media speculate that Jagr will return to his home club HC Kladno and take the form of a possible return to NHL. The Altstar is the majority owner of the association.
