NBA: Media: Hawks thinking about Schröder-Trade
With a 15-35 record, the Atlanta Hawks are currently one of the worst teams in the NBA and could therefore lose a few players around the trade deadline. According to The Ringer, Dennis Schröder is also a trade candidate.
“Although Schröder is only 24 years old, his inconsistent and inefficient performance means that he is not part of Hawks’ long-term planning,”the report says. However, a trade is likely to be much more likely in the coming summer, as not many teams currently need a point guard.
The Hawks want to change most of their current squad. A few weeks ago ESPN reported that Kent Bazemore, Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli are all available. Mike Muscala is said to have aroused the interest of some teams.
Although Schröder has the most points (19.6) and assists (6.4) of his career this season, his odds are much weaker than in the previous season (43.5 percent from the field, 29.5 percent from the three-line). The German was also regularly criticized for his defensive stance this season.
Schröder still earns 15.5 million dollars per year up to and including the 2020/21 season.
