Olympia 2018: Putin rejects Rodchenkov’s accusations:”Idiot”
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has called the whistleblowers Grigory Rodchenkov an “idiot”, who should not be trusted, after the accusations of complicity in the state doping scandal. Putin, however, once again admitted that “in individual cases there has been doping in Russia”. It is therefore Russia’s own fault that it is under suspicion of doping.
“You have this idiot Rodchenkov,”Putin said with regard to the U. S.,”everything is based on his statements. But can you trust him?” Rodchenkov is in the FBI witness protection after his momentous revelations in the USA and fears for his life.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Tuesday morning in Moscow that the Kremlin had already rejected Putin’s accusations in the strongest terms.
Rodchenkov had said in a telephone interview with the ARD’s doping editorial office that Putin knew about the events:”Of course it came from the president,”said the former head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory.
Rodchenkow is convinced that Putin was informed of all the details by Witali Mutko, then Sports Minister and now Vice Premier,”He knew everything because it was a very simple chain: I told Nagornich (the then Vice Sports Minister, Yuri Nagornich, d.), who was a member of the European Parliament. Red.), Nagornoch reported Mutko, Mutko reported Putin.”
Mr. Rodchenkov is wanted, an investigation is under way against him,”the Kremlin spokesman said,” he is a heinous person who has problems with the law. He really can’t be treated as a credible source.”
