NFL: After concussion: Gronk is expecting deployment
In the AFC Championship game against Jacksonville, Rob Gronkowski had to leave shortly before the halftime break due to a concussion. The tight end in front of the Super Bowl (Sunday, from 11.45 pm live on DAZN) has not yet received a green light from the doctors – but Gronk remains optimistic.
On the fringes of the Xbox Live session at the Super Bowl, Gronkowski explained that he hopefully gets the go-ahead from the doctors on Thursday. When a reporter asked if he thought he was playing in the Super Bowl, the tight end replied,”Yes.”
At least a little later Gronk wanted to put things into perspective:”I mean, we’ll see what happens and what the doctors say. I’m not the one who says when I can play again. It’s up to the doctors, but hopefully it’ll happen soon.”
Gronkowski had already been able to train easily at the weekend. However, Gronkowski will not be released by the medical department until he is able to train again under full physical exertion without symptoms.
