Handball: After 24 years: Heinl leaves Flensburg-Handewitt

Former international Jacob Heinl will leave handball runner-up SG Flensburg-Handewitt at the end of the season with an unknown goal. The circuit runner played for the club for 24 years, eleven of them in the professional team.

The 31-year-old scored a total of 518 goals in 371 games. With the SG he won the 2012 European Cup Winners’ Cup in 2012, the Supercup in 2013, the DHB Cup in 2015 and the Champions League in 2014.

Besides Heinl’s departure, the changes of Toft Hansen, Kentin Mahe and Thomas Mogensen have been fixed for quite some time. Toft Hansen will play for the French series champion Paris Saint-Germain starting next season.

The Frenchman Mahe will be playing for the Hungarian top club KC Veszprem from the summer, while Mogensen will be moving to his Danish home country Skjern Handbold.
