NFL: Ravens: Harbaugh dismissal under consideration

The Baltimore Ravens missed the playoff move for the third time in a row after a coverage breakdown in the last moments of the regular season. Too little for the demands of the franchise. For this reason, it seems that the release of the coach of the 2012 Super Bowl victory was also considered: John Harbaugh.

“” We definitely took that into account,”Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said at the annual State of the Ravens press conference on Friday.” But I didn’t tend to do it this year.”

For the first time ever, Bisciotti spoke to the public about possible plans to dismiss Harbaugh. Prior to the season, the coach, who has now completed his tenth season as head coach of the Ravens, had signed a one-year extension and is thus committed to the year 2019.

“I don’t think he’s ever been under that much pressure before,” Bisciotti continued,”I expect him to maintain his positive attitude and use his talent to get the most out of next season.

Harbaugh brought the Ravens into the playoffs in each of his first five years and won the Super Bowl in 2012. Since then, he has been on a 40-40 record, another post-season appearance and missed the playoffs this year, after being allowed a touchdown at 4th and 12 in the final moments of the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.

I might as well replace him now if I were to say,”Achieve the playoffs or you’re out,” but I don’t want Harbaugh to be the coach of the Ravens after next season. That’s not how it works for us.”
