NFL: Brady is MVP – Gurley, Donald and Co.
As expected, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots won the MVP award for the third time. He won against Todd Gurley and Carson Wentz. At the NFL Honors, Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald were also honored for their strong performances, Saints-Rookies were rewarded and the Hall-of-Fame-class was announced.
Brady won the vote, which was carried out by media representatives, clearly with 40 votes to eight for Gurley (Los Angeles Rams) and two for Carson Wentz (Philadelphia Eagles). It is his third MVP Award after 2007 and 2010.

Brady threw 385 of 581 successful pass attempts for 4,577 yards, 32 touchdowns and 8 interceptions this season and is now the oldest player ever to have been MVP. The record was previously held by Frank Tarkenton, who won the 38-year-old award for Minnesota Vikings.
Tem colleagues from the Rams and the New Orleans Saints were also delighted with the awards. Gurley, Donald and Rams coach Sean McVay were honoured for a great year. Saints players Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore won the rookie awards.

In addition to the annual awards for regular season achievements, the Hall-of-Fame-class was also announced. Among others, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Ray Lewis were able to secure a place in Canton for eternity in honour of their fantastic careers.
