NFL: Super Bowl: Tips and Forecasts from the Experts
Finally, the big season finale is here and Minnesota will provide a worthy setting. SPOX has gathered the opinions of various editors from trade journals and online portals as well as user tips and summarizes the forecasts for you. Super Bowl LII will be available on 4. February from 23.45 o’ clock live on DAZN – alternatively with German and US original commentary!
Pascal De Marco (SPOX): The Eagles will gain advantages in the first half, move well across the field and have an advantage of up to two touchdowns. But then what many people have already mentioned and feared happens. The patriots adjust their game, defend more aggressively and Brady enters the “zone”. No team can withstand this at the moment. Tip: 27:23 patriots.
Tobi Krause (Backfield Boys Podcast): We know the game and have seen and experienced it countless times. Whether it’s the Falcons’ offensive force last year or the Jaguars’ defensive force in the Championship Game, no other team is as versatile and adaptable as Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots. You’ll find a way to escape the pressure of the Defensive Front from Philly and keep Foles and the Run Game under control. Tip: 24:20 patriots.
Mario Krischel (Kicker): Someone has to swim against the current, right? I actually believe that Philly makes the third and biggest surprise clear. Because Doug Pederson and Co. in the underdog-role and – let’s not forget this – have a Nick Foles in Carson-Wentz-form. So why not beat the patriots too? Tip: 24:17 Eagles.
Adrian Franke (SPOX): All in all, the Eagles have the more complete team, there is no doubt about it. But New England’s qualities fly almost a little below the radar, especially on the line of scrimmage, while the patriots on the decisive position with Brady have the clear advantage on their side. Philadelphia will – as teams against the Pats in the Super Bowl more often than not – get a better start and possibly also work out a 2-possession lead. But in the end, number 6 stands for Brady. Tip: 27:24 Patriots.
mySPOX-User JaydoggBO: The Eagles have the right Defensive Line to put pressure on Brady and since the Pats-Defense comes into play too late again, the Eagles win thanks to a Game Winning Field Goal from Elliott. Tip: 21:18 Eagles.
Christian Schimmel (DerDraft. de): I think the patriots will win in a tight game. For me, there is an outstandingly important duel in this game and that is the Eagles Front Seven against the Patriots’ offensive line. The latter played much better against Jacksonville in the second half than before the break. Philadelphia must put pressure on #12. However, if Brady has enough time, the patriots in the offense will be hard to stop. Tip: 31:24 Patriots.
mySPOX-User Petzie: I expect a close game in Minneapolis. Dead people live longer, as the Eagles proved after the violation of Carson Wentz in an impressive way, almost all experts had predicted an early PO-off for them, but the team developed a kind of “right now”mentality and wants to prove it to everyone. The Eagles will try to dominate the game as usual, especially the defensive line should have an advantage against the Patriots-O-Line, Brady will be forced to get rid of the ball quickly. A fit Gronk would be essential, as he always ties defenders, even if he is not targeted in the game itself. On the whole, however, I think that in the end the Pats will only narrowly prevail, experience in Super Bowls is a very relevant factor and there the Pats simply have a big advantage. If I had to commit to the “how”, I would bet on a game winning TD drive of the patriots within the last two minutes. Tip: 27:24 Patriots.
Carsten Keller (operator meine-NFL. de): As a Brady fan I hope for his 6. Titles to silence the last critics. The Eagles’ defense around Fletcher Cox keeps the game tight for a long time, but then The GOAT pulls the game – again – out of fire late. The Eagles remain at zero, but they are looking to a golden future with Carson Wentz. Tip: 24:21 Patriots.
Daniel (operator NFLGermany): I expect a similar Super Bowl as last year. The Eagles will get off to a better start and lead most of the match. But in the end, the Pats will prevail due to their experience and quality. Tip: 30:24 patriots.
mySPOX-User Butfumlbe93: The Eagles take the lead early on, but Belichick will find the right answers to the college opener in the second half and initiate another Super Bowl comeback. Tip: 31:27 Patriots.
Florian Regelmann (SPOX): Todd Haley has prevented the Steelers from triumphing, so the Patriots are winning the Super Bowl again. Why? Nick Foles becomes Nick Foles again, he can’t play the Vikings again. Tip: 24:17 patriots.
mySPOX user BigLuck: The Eagles have everything they need to dominate the line of scrimmage and cause problems for the pats. Foles has also proved that he can be at least solid under the circumstances. The adjustments and the chase to catch up come too late this time and the patches don’t make the comeback. Tip: 24:21 Eagles.
Marcus Blumberg (SPOX): Super Bowls with the Patriots are always tight boxes. The Eagles keep it open for a long time until Belichick’s Defense Foles reminds us that he is Foles after all. In the end, Brady finds a way to success in the final drive. Tip: 24:20 patriots.
Martin Senfter (senfl. at): The Eagles surprise at the beginning and quickly take the lead, much like the Atlanta Falcons did last year. Only then, like the Falcons, not to take the lead over time. Instead, Belichick’s team will once again celebrate a brilliant comeback in the final quarter. Tip: 24:20 patriots.
