Olympia: Olympic Games 2024 in Paris to be brought forward

The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris and the subsequent Paralympics are to be brought forward by one week. Instead of the 2. till 18. August is supposed to be Olympia from 26. July to 11. August will take place. The Paralympics will take place from 28. August to 8. The competition will take place on September 30.

According to the French news agency AFP, the evaluation commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is said to have made this proposal. The Olympic Games could thus make better use of the school holidays in France.

“This change would also benefit tourism and the hotel industry,”they said. The IOC executive would now have to deal with the proposal.
