NFL: Sherman on Seahawk’s future:”There’s no doubt in my mind.”

The Seattle Seahawks may be facing a major upheaval, with several former top performers and superstars leaving the team. Richard Sherman’s future is also in the stars – but the Cornerback is self-confident.

Sherman’s last season ended prematurely due to an Achilles tendon rupture, the Cornerback turns 30 in March – and weighs $13.2 million on Seattle’s Cap 2018. The Seahawks could release him with only 2.2 million dead cap, a scenario that has been haunting the media for a while. Not least because Seattle was already openly prepared to sell Sherman via trade in the pre-season.

But when ESPN asked him whether he had any doubts that he would also play in Seattle in 2018, Sherman now made it clear:”There is no doubt in my mind. We will try to get everything back on track, get well and then try to attack again. Hopefully everyone will get fit. I hope Kam (Chancellor) can play and everything works out for him the way it has to. But there’s no question:”The squad will look different.”

The contracts of Sheldon Richardson, Byron Maxwell, DeShawn Shead and Brad McDougald, among others, expire, and Michael Bennett has already openly admitted that his future may not lie in Seattle. Coach Pete Carroll also confirmed a few weeks ago that Chancellor and Avril may have to quit their careers prematurely due to injury.

Sherman himself, however, wants to be able to work with the team as soon as possible:”I can probably be completely ready for the minicamp. But they won’t let me do anything yet. Therefore I will probably complete some individual units. They won’t let me do anything until practice camp.”
