Olympia 2018: Langenhan about the Sochi medal:”I searched for her at Google”.
Andi Langenhan was close to his first Olympic bronze medal last winter, when the IOC declared Russia’s results of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi to be invalid in a row. The 33-year-old takes his supporting role in the turmoil of the Russian doping scandal with humour.
“Suddenly someone told me that I could move up to third place and I thought:’ All right, that’s a nice Christmas present,’ Langenhan said in the run-up to the men’s race at the games in Pyeongchang on Saturday. In the end, however, the International Sports Court CAS overturned the IOC decision, which meant that Russian Albert Demtschenko also retained his silver medal and Langenhan did not advance.
In anticipation of the award, he even addressed Armin Zoeggeler (Italy), the third man from Sochi, in his anticipation of the award ceremony, last winter:”I asked him whether he happened to have the medal with him, whether I could see it briefly,”said Langenhan:”But he didn’t have it. I looked her up on Google, but I couldn’t get any closer.”
My big goal in life is an Olympic medal,”said Lagenhan:” I will fight for bronze, silver or even gold if the competition makes one or two mistakes,”but Langenhan doesn’t go into the four rounds on Saturday and Sunday when Felix Loch (Berchtesgaden) wants to celebrate his third Olympic victory in the singles as medalist.
