Olympic Games 2018: Pechstein misses her tenth medal over 3000 m

Germany’s most successful winter Olympic athlete Claudia Pechstein missed her tenth Olympic medal at the start of the speed skating competitions at the Pyeongchang Winter Games.
The 45-year-old from Berlin occupied the ninth place in 4:04.49 minutes over her branch line 3000 m in 4:04.49 minutes. This coming Friday, the five-time Olympic gold medalist over 5000 m is the candidate for the medal.
The 28-year-old Dutch rider Carlijn Achtereekte won the gold medal and in 3:59.21 minutes she narrowly prevented her team mate Ireen Wüst’s (3:59.29) Olympic triple. Third place went to Antoinette de Jong (4:00,02) for Oranje.
The second German starter, Roxanne Dufter from Inzell, did not get past 23rd place in the 24-strong field in 4:16.87 minutes.
