Handball: Setback for lions in Champions League

The German champion Rhein-Neckar Löwen suffered a setback three days after the gala performance in the league on the European stage. In the Champions League, the lions were defeated by the Hungarian top club Pick Szeged in front of their home crowd with 35:37 (17:15) and the best hosts were the Dane Mads Mensah Larsen with eight goals.

In Group A, the lions are in fourth place with twelve points after their third defeat. Szeged follows in fifth place with one point behind, with defending champion Vardar Skopje (18).

Only on Thursday the lions caused a sensation with a strong appearance in the league, when they had overrun the TBV Lemgo in the first half with 23:4 and won at the end with 38:17.
