Olympia 2018: Snowboard-Slopestyle: Mittermüller questionable because of fever
Snowboarder Silvia Mittermüller may have to forego a start at the Olympic Slopestyle competition on Monday (10:00 a. m. OZ/2:00 a. m. CET). The 34-year-old from Unterhaching spent the Sunday afternoon in Pyeongchang with fever in bed.
“The wind caught our competition today – and me too. I’ve been cold with two blankets and a fever since I got home. I hope it’s gone to the finals,”Mittermüller wrote on Twitter.
Previously, the strong wind had also mixed up the competition program of the snowboarders. The women’s slopestyle qualification had to be cancelled. On Monday, therefore, all 27 athletes around Mittermüller will be directly in the final, which is to be run with only two instead of the usual three runs.
In 2014 in Sochi, she was missing due to a broken Achilles tendon in 2014. The games were supposed to be the “last piece of the puzzle” of her eventful career, in which she was repeatedly thrown back by injuries.
