NFL: Niners: Reuben Foster arrested again – blockade threatens
The San Francisco 49ers have to be prepared to play parts of the coming season without one of their most talented defenders: linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested again on Sunday.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, police report that Foster is accused of domestic violence, several threats and possession of a firearm. At about 9:15 a. m. in the morning, a call was received from the police for disturbing the peace, which led to Foster’s arrest.
According to the Sacramento Bee, he was released on probation for a bail of $75,000, the linebacker’s second arrest within 30 days: on 12 December, he was released. On January 1, he had already landed in police custody in Alabama for marijuana possession.
In addition, he had become conspicuous during his Draft-Combine in February 2017 due to a diluted urine sample, which counts as a positive drug test when considering the NFL. Foster finally flew out of the Combine after messing with a local hospital employee.
The League will now start its own investigations into the accusation of domestic violence, according to the standard protocol. The normal suspension, if found guilty by the NFL, is six games for a first offender.
