NFL: Cards coach confirmed: Larry Fitzgerald continues his career
After the resignations of Carson Palmer and Bruce Arians, the Arizona Cardinals are allowed to plan for 2018 at least with the biggest fixed point of their franchise: Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald continues.
This was confirmed by the new head coach Steve Wilks in an interview with the Doug & Wolf Show:”He told me last night that he was going to play the 2018 season. He has committed himself to it completely – these are his words. “Of course, we’re thrilled to have him as part of this team.”
As in the previous year, Fitzgerald had flirted with 1,156 receiving yards (six touchdowns) at the end of his career, despite another very good season. In addition to Palmer and Arians, the contracts of several receivers (including John Brown and Jaron Brown) as well as the contracts of several tight ends and offensive linemen will expire.
Next to Running Back David Johnson and Left Tackle D. J. With Fitzgerald, Humphries is now the third fixed point of the Cards Offense – an important argument for Arizona’s search for a new quarterback. For Fitzgerald it will be the 15th time. NFL season, he still needs 390 yards to move up the All-Time-List past Terrell Owens to second place.
