After the disappointing performances of the Austrian ski jumpers at the Four Hills Tournament and the Olympic single jumping competition on the Kleinschanze, the next competition (large hill, LIVE on SPOX from 13:30) was criticized by former trainer Alexander Pointner.

In his column in the Kleine Zeitung, the 47-year-old ex-coach leaves no good hair on his former protégés:”Everyone in the team still seems to be softened, and there is still a cramping search for positive aspects and excuses”.

The most successful coach in the history of the Austrian Ski Association, who had to take his hat off in 2014, is angry above all about the obvious lack of preparation of the eagles at the Olympic Games:”Didn’t any of the (numerous) coaches bother to inquire in advance about the climatic conditions in South Korea?

Pointner even had a concrete suggestion:”How easy it would have been to convert the freezing cold into a team advantage: There are heatable socks and gloves, a warm coat could have been worn until just before the jump! For major events, it is important to think further than the usual equipment or the usual preparation for a competition.”
