Olympia 2018: How Manuel Feller feels after his wild fall
The rude departure in the first round of the Olympic giant slalom at the Yongpyong Alpine Center on Sunday left traces at the Tyrolean Manuel Feller’s.”At the beginning I thought that everything went well. But now it’s getting a bit more painful at the neck and shoulder every minute,”said the 25-year-old about the consequences of his fall.
With regard to the slalom this coming Thursday and the training sessions that preceded it, the Fieberbrunner does not expect any more serious injuries:”It’s not so fine now, but I don’t think too much has happened,”said Feller. So he’s confident for the next few days:”I hope we can get it back up to slalom practice.”
After the disappointment in the giant slalom, in which he only fell to the last meters after excellent intermediate times, Feller’s motivation for the slalom is even greater. Once again, he’ll put all his eggs in one basket, because “the animals shot are the most dangerous.”
Feller was among the top eight in all five World Cup giant slalom races this winter, but was not placed at the Winter Games.
