NBA: Butler talks about Joakim Noah’s situation with the Knicks
Joakim Noah has fallen out of favour with the New York Knicks and, after a disagreement with coach Jeff Hornacek, is no longer playing a role. Now his former team-mate Jimmy Butler commented on the Frenchman’s dilemma.
“I know him: He wants to stand on the floor and win. He’s a good guy,”Butler told New York Daily News:”I talked to him a little bit and I want him to be happy. You can’t work with the same people every day if you’re not happy.”
Just under a month ago, Noah ran into head coach Jeff Hornacek. The reason: Noah’s short playing time. According to Daily News there was no brawl, but Hornacek is said to have pushed Noah before they had to be separated.
As a result, the Knicks tried to trade Noah. Due to his contract (2 years / 38 million dollars), however, they did not find a deal. A dismissal from Noah has ruled out the Knicks so far.
Otherwise, the Minnesota Timberwolves – around Butler – would certainly be a candidate,”he simply has it in him. I know he’s working hard to play right now. No matter which team,”said Butler.
