NBA: Media: Raptors distance themselves from Reunion with Carter
The Toronto Raptors still have a free seat in the squad after they have not yet struck the buyout market. Finally, rumors have been circulating that Vince Carter could be a candidate for the last commercial. This should not be the case.
According to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg, the Raptors are not planning an offer for Carter if the Sacramento Kings and 41-year-old would agree on a buyout. According to this, the Raptors Carter made an offer this summer and should not be reluctant to reunion with Vinsanity in the future. But now is not the time.
Instead, the focus should be on the current team, which is currently on course for 59 victories, which would mean a new franchise record. Nevertheless, the Canadians bought some capspace for Malachi Richardson with the Kings through Bruno Caboclo’s trade. So you could pick up another player from the buyout market.
Carter played the first six years of his career in Toronto before forcing a trade with the New Jersey Nets. This year, Carter has an average of 5.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists for the Kings. After the season the oldie will be a Free Agent again.
