NFL: Jeffery-OP: Six months off!
For Alshon Jeffery, the heroic season with the crowning glory in the Super Bowl didn’t come without a prize. The wide receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles has now had to be operated on the shoulder and, according to media reports, will fail for around six months.
Jeffery had already contracted the shoulder joint injury during the training camp and was successfully operated on Wednesday. According to a report from ESPN, the Wideout will most likely miss the pre-season and the start of the regular season is also in danger.
The 28-year-old started in all Reguler Season games of the Eagles and caught 56 passes for 789 yards and nine touchdowns. During the postseason he received 12 receptions for 219 yards and three touchdowns, one of them in the Super Bowl.
Jeffery spent his first season in Philadelphia on a one-year contract, having previously worked for the Chicago Bears. He was already rewarded in December with a four-year contract for 52 million dollars.
