NBA: Warriors: JaVale McGee to remain Starter
Head coach Steve Kerr surprised the crowd in the first game after the All-Star Break by appointing JaVale McGee to the starting five of the Golden State Warriors. This was by no means a one-off change.
The Dubs beat the Clippers at 134:127, with McGee replacing Zaza Pachulia on the fiveth position. This one came from the bank.
McGee was on the field for 14 minutes and scored 6 points, 4 rebounds and a steal. Kerr explained the reason for the change by saying that he had analyzed the figures with his coaching staff during the All-Star break and realized that something had to be changed at the many weak starts of his team.
McGee is much faster on its feet than Georgian Pachulia and is set to provide new impetus with its explosiveness. According to McGee Kerr, on Sunday night, when the top match against Oklahoma City Thunder will be played, McGee Kerr will start again.
