NBA: Davis delivers 53-point gala – Daniel Theis once again strong

Anthony Davis wore his New Orleans Pelicans to victory with a 53-point gala against the Phoenix Suns. The Dallas Mavericks surprise, while the Golden State Warriors in New York have a good quarter. The Toronto Raptors take the Detroit pistons apart and Daniel Theis shines for the Boston Celtics.

The Lakers have no reason to refuel, as they have no power over their own pick in the summer and so the Californians clinched their third victory in a row. The ball went like clockwork for the guests, also because Lonzo Ball from the bank showed a good performance. The rookie missed none of his four throws (3/3 threesomes) and scored 18 points as well as 7 rebounds and 5 assists in 24 minutes.

Also strong was Brandon Ingram, whom the Hawks never got a grip on. The Sophomore scored a team high of 21 points (10/16 FG),”We played how to do it today. Today we have always found the best litter for our team,”said Ingram. The Lakers led with up to 25 points and scored 52 percent of their throwing attempts. Nine (!) players scored double-digit points. There were also double doubles for Julius Randle (19.10 rebounds) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (10.14 boards).

The dominance of the guests on the boards was overwhelming, the duel went with 59:41 to the Lakers, who could afford 23 turnovers. In Atlanta Taurean Prince (24) and Dennis Schröder (20) were the bright spots of the weak host. John Collins (6,9 Rebounds) had little influence at the start. The rookie began because Ersan Ilyasova and the Hawks had agreed on a buyout.

The Celtics are back on track again and celebrated their third success in series, even though their opponent cannot be the yardstick for this evening. The grizzlies were frighteningly weak in the TD Garden and failed to score a single field goal in the second quarter of almost eight minutes. The Celtics used a 22:6 run to ensure clear conditions quickly. The victory was never again in danger.

“We just played a little better than last time,”Celtics coach Brad Stevens stated soberly. Kyrie Irving, who hung up 25 points (8/13 FG) in 25 minutes and was able to turn 5 of his 8 threesomes into 5 minutes, was pretty good again,”We try to be more focused to prepare ourselves for the upcoming tasks”, explained Uncle Drew.

And there will be better opponents. The grizzlies have now lost ten games in a row and will continue to stick to just 18 wins. The best scorer of the guests was JaMychal Green with 21 points as well as 11 rebounds, Marc Gasol strewn 17 points and 8 rebounds and assists each. Tyreke Evans missed the second game in a row against a rib injury.

In Celtics, however, Aron Baynes returned to the grid. For the Australian Daniel Theis had to make way for the Australian, but from the bench he was still able to take 24 minutes and made excellent use of his time on the court. The former Bamberger scored 12 points (5/8 FG) and grabbed 7 rebounds. Greg Monroe, on the other hand, won a DNP, partly because Marcus Morris (13.8 boards) was also able to convince as a reservist.

Keller duel in Brooklyn, which the Nets won with a strong second half. The Bulls went into the break (51:49) with a tight lead, but were overrun afterwards. The hosts marked the first nine points of the third quarter and won the section with 35:19.

A Quincy Acy’s threesome took over the top of the lead at the end of the match, but the Bulls had long since given up. After the break, only 30.4 per cent of the visitors left the field, while Brooklyn beat the Hoiberg team three by three (8/19 in the second half).

The Nets were again able to count on Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (7) and Caris LaVert (6), who were available to coach Kenny Atkinson after a long injury break. The best scorer of the hosts was Allen Crabbe (21) with four converted threesomes, with DeMarre Carroll (18) and Jarrett Allen (16,9 Rebounds) playing appealing games. The center also provided the highlight of the game with its brilliant poster-dunk about the helpless Lauri Markkanen (19).

Kris Dunn was the Bulls’ busiest scorer, while Paul Zipser was out of action due to a foot injury.
