MLB: Yankees Prospect Miguel Andujar runs with Homerun’s self-promotion
Prospect Miguel Andujar has continued his strong start to the week, beating Toronto Blue Jays in a home run at the New York Yankees’ 9-8 win. It was the second day in a row with a home run of the third base prospect.
Actually, Brandon Drury’s engagement with the Arizona Diamondbacks suggested that the third-base starter would go into the season for the Bronx Bombers. But Andujar makes the decision as difficult as possible for those responsible.
Andujar had already on Monday with a Walk-Off-Homerun against the Philadelphia Phillies in the home George M. Steinbrenner Field caused a sensation. Only one day later he managed another long ball in Dunedin/Florida.
“I don’t send any messages,”Andujar said after the game:”It’s all about doing your job: playing well and helping the team win. That’s how I see it. I’m just doing my job.”
General Manager Brian Cashman said about number 5 on the Yankees’ prospect list:”He has already opened our eyes. Not with this camp, but based on what he has already done and where he is in his career. Competition is always good. We’re creating as much competition as we can, because I think it’s pushing everyone to top performance.”
Manager Aaron Boone is also pleased with what Andujar shows him:”I came here and expected a lot. And frankly, what I’ve seen is exciting,” Boone elaborated:”I feel like I’ve seen progress in his defensive game. I have a feeling he’ll be a very good player in this league.”
