NBA: Kevin Durant wants salaries to stop being published

In the wake of the NCAA scandal, Kevin Durant has also spoken. The star of the Golden State Warriors wants salaries not to be published in the NBA, as parents of Prospects would only make the immense sums of money the wrong decisions for their children.

“We need to stop publishing players’ salaries,”Durant told ESPN,”The amount of money is driving parents and children crazy. 200 million for five years? Of course, the parents are thinking about such sums of money,”Durant is sure.

“They are no longer concerned with the game, but only with the money. In the past I didn’t even know what all these guys deserve,”Durant continued. The NCAA is currently under investigation by the FBI, which is investigating illegal payments for college players.

There’s no investigation against Durant. However, the 2017 finals MVP explained that he would have preferred to go directly to the NBA because his family needed the money. This was not possible, however, as former Commissioner David Stern had introduced the rule the year before that players are not allowed to transfer directly from high school to the NBA. Instead, KD played a season for Texas and was voted No. 2 in 2007 by Seattle SuperSonics.
