Olympic Games 2018: Paralympics: Six athletes from North Korea also expected
The rapprochement between South and North Korea appears to be taking place at the 12th General Assembly. Paralympics (9. till 18. March) a continuation.
North Korea is planning to send a 20-strong delegation to Pyeongchang for the games, including six North Korean disabled athletes, according to a report by the Yonhap news agency. This was the result of talks after the Olympic Winter Games, which ended on Sunday, according to the Seoul ministry of union.
The officially hostile countries marched in side by side at the opening ceremony and put together a joint women’s ice hockey team. In total, the delegation from the north at the Olympics included 500 people, including a larger group of cheerleaders.
The 20 leaders and athletes from North Korea are expected to participate in the 7th World Championships. March, cross the Korean border to the Paralympics. It is not yet known which athletes from North Korea will participate. The International Paralympic Committee had already invited two alpine skiers. For North Korea, it would be the premiere at the Winter Paralympics.
