NBA: Media: Thunder grab Corey Brewer
According to media reports, Corey Brewer has agreed on a buyout with the Los Angeles Lakers. The veteran’s probably got a new team, too. The Oklahoma City Thunder are about to be hired by Brewer.
This is reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The 31-year-old is supposed to be officially a Free Agent on Friday and can then sign with any team. According to Woj, the Thunders have already won this race. Other interested parties are said to have been the Cavaliers, Wizards, Blazers and Bucks.
In Oklahoma City, Brewer would play under his old college coach Billy Donovan again. They won the NCAA title twice with Florida. Because of Andre Roberson’s failure, he would also be a logical replacement on two.
Brewer played 54 games for the Lakers this season, twice in the Starting Five. In 12.9 minutes the Guard hung up 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds. However, Brewer only hit 18.6 percent of the three-line team this season. The Thunder would be the sixth team for the seasoned veteran, he has already played for Minnesota, Houston, Denver, the Lakers and Dallas, with whom he won the 2011 championship.
