NCAA: Wolverines to “MOP” Wagner win Big Ten Tournamemt
The German Moritz Wagner has won the Big Ten Conference at the NCAA for the second time in a row. In the final his Michigan Wolverines defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 75:66. Wagner received a special honour after the game.
Michigan finished the main lap in fifth place with a record of 28 victories and seven defeats. Final opponent Purdue was a bit ahead with a 28-6 record and was slightly favored in the final.
However, Wagner’s team broke away early in the first half and defended their lead confidently until the final buzzer. Big Man Wagner was top scorer of his team with 17 points (7/11 FG) and 2 rebounds. As he had also had good performances in the games before, he was elected MOP – the “Most Outstanding Player” of the Big Ten Tournament.
The March Madness, where the Wolverines will also be represented, starts on 13 March. March.
