MLB: Gonzalez remains with the Rockies for another year
Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez stays with the Colorado Rockies. The Free Agent has signed a one-year contract with the team he has been playing for since 2009, according to a media report.
The last surviving dependant of the Rockies Postseason Team from 2009 will remain in Colorado. FanRag Sports announces that the 32-year-old will extend his stay in Denver for another year. Details of the deal are not yet known.
Gonzalez started his career at Oakland A’s in 2008 and was traded to the Rockies before the 2009 season. In the previous year he beat. 262 with 14 home runs and 57 RBI.
In July he hit. 214, then changed his swing and the way he held the bat, and consulted a sleep expert to treat his persistent insomnia. Subsequently he then beat. 325 in August and September.
2017 also marked the end of a seven-year contract worth 80 million dollars. In the coming season,”CarGo” will no longer be an undisputed regular, as the Outfield with Charlie Blackmon in the Center Field and Ian Desmond in the Left Field is actually standing. Gonzalez will therefore probably fight Gerardo Parra in the Right Field during the season.
