MLB: Ryan Braun does not feel comfortable with a change of position

The Milwaukee Brewers have completely renewed their outfield for the 2018 season. As a result, the former left fielder Ryan Braun will take over a new position. The face of the franchise is not very enthusiastic about it.

According to Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain’s commitments, there is a surplus of good outfielders at the Brewers. One way to make room for Keon Broxton or Domingo Santana is to put Ryan Braun at the first base. A position he’s never held before.

“It’s nice to take ground balls for the first time in a long time. But it’s also stressful. I haven’t played the position at all. I had no idea what I was getting into,”Braun admitted to reporters.

Aspects of the game, such as responsibilities at Bunts or Shifts, still cause him a great deal of trouble:”I definitely don’t feel well,”Braun said clearly,”I’m doing my best. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices. Ultimately, I think it will obviously help us to become a better team and achieve the goals we want to achieve based on our squad if I can play several positions”.

In his rookie season 2007 Braun played third baseman, though not as a very good one. That was the deciding factor in finally putting him in the left field. Now it is planned that Braun will play some of the games at the first base and the other part as Left Fielder.

Braun did not sign a new five-year contract until the end of the 2020 season with a total value of 105 million dollars until 2016. The contract includes an option for 2021 ($15 million) with a four million buyout.
