NFL: Pats receiver Danny Amendola goes to the Dolphins
Most experts had expected Danny Amendola to stay with the New England Patriots and extend it again – but that doesn’t work out: The wide receiver changes to division rival Miami.
NFL network reporter Dan Hellie announced the news first. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL network, Amendola is said to have been looking for an annual salary of over five million dollars – obviously too much for the patriots.
Amendola had given up money to continue playing for the patriots. Afterwards, he shone particularly in the postseason and now, at the age of 32, he no longer seems willing to give up money. According to reports, Amendola in Miami receives a two-year contract for a maximum of $12 million, of which 8.25 million are reportedly guaranteed.
For Miami, on the other hand, a somewhat curious off-season continues. In addition to the rumors that Ndamukong Suh could be dismissed and the trade of Jarvis Landry, Miami also engaged former chief receiver Albert Wilson in addition to Amendola. Wilson is to collect up to $24 million over three years.
