NHL: Leon Draisaitls Edmonton Oilers loses at Calgary Flames
National player Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers will have to bury their delicate play-off dreams in the NHL. On Wednesday night, the Oilers lost 1-0 to Calgary Flames and won their first defeat after three consecutive victories.
With Johnny Gaudreau’s goal against U. S. international Johnny Gaudreau (26th), Edmonton’s distance to a wild card rank that would qualify for the championship round is 18 points. In total, the Oilers still have 13 games to play in the regular season. With 64 points Draisaitl’s team currently occupies 25th place among the 31 NHL teams.
Draisaitt’s national team-mate Tobias Rieder did not have much to celebrate with the Los Angeles Kings either. Returning to his former home town, Rieder was defeated by the Arizona Coyotes 3:4 after penalty shooting. Rieder had moved from the Coyotes to California at the end of February. However, with 82 points, LA, the Pacific Division’s third-placed driver, is still in a good position in the play-off race.
